{"id":3324,"date":"2020-07-13T08:11:57","date_gmt":"2020-07-13T04:41:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sru.ac.ir\/en\/?p=3324"},"modified":"2020-07-13T08:11:57","modified_gmt":"2020-07-13T04:41:57","slug":"lms-emmy-noether-fellows-2020-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sru.ac.ir\/en\/lms-emmy-noether-fellows-2020-announced\/","title":{"rendered":"LMS Emmy Noether Fellows 2020 Announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"Paragraph SCXW14869074 BCX0\">The London Mathematical Society (LMS) is pleased to announce the award of the LMS Emmy Noether Fellowships to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.maths.ed.ac.uk\/~mhering\/\">Dr Milena\u00a0Hering<\/a>, University of\u00a0Edinburgh,\u202f\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.brunel.ac.uk\/people\/anne-sophie-kaloghiros\">Dr Anne-Sophie\u00a0Kaloghiros<\/a>, Brunel University,\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dundee.ac.uk\/people\/irene-kyza\">Dr Irene\u00a0Kyza<\/a>, University\u00a0of Dundee,\u00a0and\u202f<a href=\"https:\/\/maths.dept.shef.ac.uk\/maths\/staff_info_910.html\">Dr Cristina\u00a0Manolache<\/a>, University of Sheffield.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph SCXW14869074 BCX0\">LMS\u00a0Emmy\u00a0Noether\u00a0Fellowships are designed to enhance the research, broadly construed,\u202fof\u00a0mathematical scientists who are\u00a0either re-establishing their research programme after returning from a major break associated\u00a0with caring responsibilities,\u00a0or\u00a0who require\u00a0support to maintain their research programme while\u00a0dealing with significant ongoing caring\u00a0responsibilities.\u00a0They\u00a0are sponsored by a generous donation from\u00a0the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fundraiso.ch\/sponsor\/fondation-liber\">Liber Stiftung<\/a>\u202f.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph SCXW14869074 BCX0\">We had\u00a0a large number of\u00a0exceptionally high-quality applications,\u00a0more than we were able to fund,\u00a0highlighting\u00a0the importance of supporting mathematicians with caring responsibilities.\u00a0Networking opportunities have been offered to all applicants, and,\u00a0in addition,\u00a0funded recipients will be assigned mentors\u00a0in their host department.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph SCXW14869074 BCX0\">We were pleased to receive applications from a wide range of\u00a0areas of pure\u00a0mathematics,\u00a0applied mathematics and statistics.
